Courtesy Visit of the Executive Secretary of SACU, Ms Tswelopele Moremi to the Governor of the Bank of Namibia, Mr. Tom Alweendo
The Executive Secretary of SACU, Ms Tswelopele Moremi, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Bank of Namibia on the 8 May 2008 aimed at establishing professional working relationship and to discuss issues of mutual relevance between the two institutions. The Executive Secretary briefed the Governor of the Bank on ongoing developments regarding the regional and global trade negotiations and the SACU regional integration agenda.
The issues discussed related to the informal and ongoing collaborative efforts on organization and attendance of officials between both institutions on seminars, conferences and workshops which are of mutual interest on economic research, trade policy, trade finance and regional integration.
The meeting agreed that both institutions could continue on extending support to conduct collaborative research relevant to each institutions needs and also extended its readiness in sharing of resource material and literature on research, trade and economic policy issues.
