Meeting of the SACU Senior Finance Officials

The SACU Quarterly Institutional Meetings continued on 20 June 2026 with the Meeting of the Senior Finance Officials (SFOs) in Cape Town, South Africa. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Vusi Maupa, Chief Director: SACU, at the National Treasury of South Africa, who highlighted the increasingly complex global economic environment, characterised by geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions and heightened uncertainty in international trade. He noted that these developments continue to impact trade performance, fiscal revenues and macroeconomic stability across the region, and underscored the need for SACU to strengthen the resilience and integrity of its systems.
